Impurity Analysis
Microbial analysis
Medicinal plants are usally associated with a range of microbial contaminants, represented by bacterial, fungi and viruses this may be due to poor methods of harvesting cleaning, drying and storage may cause contamination. At THS we investigate microbial contamination according to well known pharmacopoeia. The microbial limit test is done for the follwoing organisms:
Bacterial counts, yeast and molds, E. Coli, Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Staphylococus Aureus, Total Aerobic count, Shigella, Coliforms, Enterococoi, Clostridium, etc.

Heavy metals
Contamination by toxic metals can either be accidental or intentional. Contamination by heavy metals in herbal remedies can be attributed to many causes, including environmental pollution, and can pose clinically relevant dangers for the health of the user and should therefore be limited. At THS, we can detect the presence of following heavy metals:
As, Hg, Pb, Cd,Cr, Cu, Ni, etc

Aflatoxins / Mycotoxins
Alfatoxins contaminate the wide varieties of plants and food due to fungal infection during growth and storage. THS specilizes in 4 types of alfatoxins analysis which are:
B1, B2, G1, G2

Pesticides
Herbal drugs are liable to contain pesticide residues, which accumulate from agricultural practices, such as spraying, treatment of soils during cultivation, and administering of fumigants during storage.hence it is important that herbs and herbal products are analyse for various pesticides group.
At present there are 10 pesticides group consisting of 174 pesticides which can be analysed.

Identification of Impurities in Phytoconstituents
The purity of the Phytoconstituents is not always 100% and usually have presence of small quantity of impurities which can have an effect on the properties of phytoconstituents. We at THS, can help you in determining this small percentage of impurity which is helpful for research as well as medications.
