For decades, antibiotics, often referred to as Antimicrobial Growth Promoters (AGPs), have been widely used in commercial poultry production to enhance growth. These antibiotics target opportunistic pathogens in the gut that can hinder poultry growth. However, AGPs can accumulate in the birds' tissues and enter the human food chain, potentially leading to immune system compromise and the development of bacterial resistance. However, the growing concerns over antibiotic resistance and consumer demand for safer, residue-free products have led to a shift toward natural alternatives. One such promising substitute is curcumin oil, a potent, natural extract derived from turmeric (Curcuma longa). Bio-Curcumin is a turmeric oil enriched with curcuminoids, derived from the rhizome herb Curcuma longa, a member of the Zingiberaceae (ginger) family. The key active compounds in turmeric oil are rich in bio active compounds particularly curcuminoids, turmerones, and essential oils. Curcuminoids exhibit a broad spectrum of biological activities such as antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antiprotozoal, antiviral, anticoccidial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, the oil itself demonstrates potent antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory effects, further enhancing its therapeutic potential.
